1. Beast Craft BBQ owner and pit master David Sandusky has announced plans to expand his barbecue empire. Beast Butcher & Block will open in late summer at 4156 Manchester Road in The Grove, offering daily counter service for lunch, dinner and late-night hours.

2. Glenister Wells has been tapped as the new executive chef at Juniper in the Central West End. Wells, a St. Louis native, was most recently sous chef at Pastaria.

3. After a couple years of misfortune, the long-awaited Chinese-American restaurant Good Fortune is finally making the leap from the drawing board to brick-and-mortar reality at 1641 Tower Grove Ave., in Botanical Heights.

4. After a successful run of semi-permanent pop-ups, Logan Ely of Square1 Project is finally opening his first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Ely said he will debut Savage at 2655 Ann St., in Fox Park, hopefully sometime in June.

5. Fans of steamed buns, prepare your appetites. Bao will open Monday, April 16, at 14 N. Central Ave., in Clayton, in the former Coastal Bistro space.
